After CodePlex site went into archive mode, DNN wanted to make these older releases of its open source CMS artifacts available to everyone for easier access. These older releases were uploaded to GitHub as part of the following repositories:.
As for the releases from To read further about the various releases of DNN and their release nots, you can check these two pages:. Thanks for pushing this request from me through! Any idea when pre Hello David, I will try to complete uploading the missing artifacts next week. Thank you so much for getting this out there and easier to find! Today I uploaded releases 1. This makes all the releases of DNN from 1.
George, thank you. I do believe though that it does not make sense to place 1. I realize the driver for separate repos was storage size, but we want this to be intuitive in the end for everyone. So, I recommend either renaming the 4. Again, thanks so much for the effort!
Can we also get the missing releases uploaded to the DNN. Platform repo? For example, Yes, Codeplex has closed but every project is full archived in a handy. I'd like to know if is there any tool to simple browse all files described in. With manual search It is difficultous to find specific release, discussion, issue or a wiki page inside the archives. It would be very useful if Microsoft had also thought there with any tools able to read that json files to would help you navigate through the zip archive files and folders!
Scippy One, that is actually what spawned this entire effort to get at least the release packages on mto GitHub. I think many of us have felt the pain of haviving to download he CodePlex Archive ZIP which is extremely slow and then having to traverse it and painfully deal with all the GUID file names.
Hopefully this effort will help to alleviate at least a piece of that pain. Thanks David, but navigate into release zip file it's quite simple after analyzed json file.
The matter becomes almost impossible if you need to navigate into issue, discussion or wiki folder! It is unbelievable that such an important and widespread project as codeplex did not think before closing to an instrument to navigate inside the archives!
David, I uploaded the two missing releases If there are any other missing one, please let me know. George, thank you, but as previously stated, those two releases Platform repo not the archive. Otherwise, I recommend you set a 7.
Just think of how the end user's experience will be when trying to find these releases and make it easy and intuitive for them. David, if I add them to the main Platform repo, then the will have today's date as the release date and someone might think of them as new releases.
I prefer to keep them as is. Sorry, not trying to be difficult. Please add George Alatrash - when can expect the "dust to settle" with these? It seems attention to detail is a must on these. People are having a hard time getting to specific versions and things keep disappearing here and there.
Shelly, release 7. George - who is responsible then? People need access to these packages. The link you shared only has a ZIP of the repo. This is not the same thing. I've given permissions to DavidP to update the repos.
Thank you Ash - I will work to get these repos in order as soon as possible. For everyone following this thread, I have now resolved all issues with the Archive repositories on GitHub.
Now there are repos for 1. I will be publishing a follow-on blog post with more details. It would be great if THIS post were updated with links to everything. Fantastic work David, thank you!! Thanks Jeremy. I will be posting a new blog, hopefully today, to help "connect all the dots". Thanks David for taking over.
For those interested in extracting CoedPlex archives from the downloaded files, you can use this small application or call it a tool if you like to do do. Hopefully, it will provide help for future needs! Comment Form Only registered users may post comments.
